BRM: Third Collaboration with Corvette
French independent watchmaker BRM recently released its third collaboration with the Chevrolet Corvette, featuring four timepieces: two three-register chronographs and two three-hand date watches. These watches feature stainless steel or titanium and stainless steel cases, paired with striking racing-inspired dials.
Bernard Richards, the head of the French independent watch brand BRM, is known for his passion for powerful mechanics. From the brand's inception, most of his creations have been closely linked to the world of automobiles and motorcycles—from design and construction to color schemes, embodying the essence of these vehicles.
In 2020, to coincide with the launch of the new Chevrolet Corvette, BRM released a limited-edition watch collection, including four 46mm watches and one 44mm watch. This collection is based on the C8R, which debuted at the Daytona 24 Hours last month, incorporating the iconic colors and functions of this legendary American sports car.
Depending on the model, the dial features a yellow background with gray stripes or a yellow background with gray stripes, or is made of carbon fiber, and is adorned with the CR8 logo at 3 o'clock. These pilot's watches are powered by automatic mechanical movements, paired with a breathable fabric strap and a stainless steel pin buckle.
Historically, the Corvette team has always used two cars in the race, numbered 3 and 4, and these numbers also appear on the dials of 24-hour watches: one is a V-shaped three-hand chronograph with a date display; the other is a three-hand date watch, both designed to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the extremely rare and highly sought-after Corvette Grand Sport.
